ABOUT

As part of the PR28 Floating Offshore Wind Mooring and Anchoring Systems - Technology Development and Qualification Programme, TTI Marine Renewables Ltd (TTI-MR) has been contracted by the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (ORE Catapult) to deliver the first phase of a study into TQ for FOWT mooring and anchoring (M&A) systems. ORE Catapult has established the Floating Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence (FOW CoE), a collaborative programme with industry, academic and stakeholder partners. TQ Framework Guidance Notes have been developed to assist stakeholders, including M&A technology developers, to navigate the TQ landscape. Two additional resources have been developed to provide further support, including this interactive Technology Qualification Tool (TQT) website as well as a Technical Qualification Register (TQR) spreadsheet which can be used to facilitate the planning and execution of TQ activities.

Established in 1986, Tension Technology International (TTI) comprises a group of independent consultants who are experts in the design, development, procurement, installation and testing of M&A systems for the offshore and renewables sectors. The group comprises a parent company (TTI Ltd) and two subsidiaries; a R&D and forensic testing facility near Oxford (TTI Testing Ltd) and a renewable energy team in Inverness (TTI-MR Ltd). Associate consultants are located in the UK, the US, China, India and the Netherlands. TTI-MR Ltd became active in early 2019, and the core team previously worked for the parent company TTI Ltd amassing decades of experience in the design, analysis, testing, qualification and specification of mooring systems for the marine renewables industry. This track record has included the design and qualification of new enabling M&A technologies and associated subsystems and components.
